Welcome to the Business Owners Success Club
IT’S ALL ABOUT YOU
There are 4 Essential Components of Your Effortless Business; but you, the owner, are the Fifth Element – the most important element.
The Business Owners Success Club is for you.
In order for you to make your business the best it can be, you need to be in the best shape you can be. You need to be strong, energized, creative, fearless, and motivated. How can you do that every day, or at least most days.
You need to be supported, encouraged, hugged or booted depending upon what you need most. We are the bunch who can do that! We’re all business owners here. We are all having the same experiences and we understand you.
There are no silver bullets. Jim Collins talks about getting a massive flywheel to turn. You push and push and push. Finally, there’s some movement and you keep pushing. At some point “the momentum of the thing kicks in your favor, hurling the flywheel forward, turn after turn…whoosh!…it’s own heavy weight working for you. “ If someone were to ask you what was the one big push that caused this thing to go so fast, you’d recognize it as a nonsensical question. It wasn’t one thing, it was consistent effort.
Let’s work together to get all our flywheels spinning.
COMMUNITY
It takes a Community to Grow a Business. Your local community, the community of other business owners: local and around the world.
Many of the problems in the world come from economic disparity. I think it is wrong when decisions are based on money, rather than what is right. A vibrant local small business community can make all the difference.
Small business supports sports, culture and community at a local level. Small Business has a vested interest in community infrastructure, safety and economics.
If we all work together to improve our businesses to the point where they are Effortless for us, we can spare some energy for our communities and to help others in their communities.
If we are interested in a better world, the best thing we can do is help and support business owners all over the world.
That’s what the Business Owners Success Club is all about.
WORKING TOGETHER
I have worked with 100’s of business owners through the years – some more successful than others. Several years ago I decided to study the most successful to determine what it was that they were doing that made their lives and businesses so much easier.
I found it boiled down to 3 things that I call the 3 Success Factors:
They know where they are and where they are going. They have clear measurable goals and they track their progress towards those goals.
They delegate like crazy. They have surrounded themselves with a strong team and good people and they know how to bring out the best in each of them.
They Do IT! They don’t add things to a to-do list, they just do it. They are clearly focused on the outcome and they know what needs doing next to get them there.
BUSINESS OWNERS SUCCESS CLUB
We realize the power of groups and want to take advantage of the collective wisdom, varied best practices and accountability they offer.
We’ll all work along together through this Blog, the Ning online community and the resources on the Facebook Page.
This Blog
I’m currently posting about my 100 days focus to make it all work. I wanted to see what would happen. Things have been happening!
Crystal Clear Bookkeeping Ltd. I’m going back to our core values and making a pivot. We don’t want to be a low-cost provider of a commodity service. That’s where much of bookkeeping is heading. We are looking at how else we can serve Our Business Owners and we are finding some very interesting options.
Your Effortless Business is a new concept I am exploring to help you craft a business that makes it easy for you to play your heart out! I am exploring the whole Online Information Business model with this one. I am having fun! and getting a great response!
Repair-Share is the newest venture and is where I am exploring social business.
I have been making small progress all along for the past 15 years; but, I recognize if I want things to truly take a big step up, and I do want to help more people, I will have to push hard, work on my businesses and not get caught in that working-in, putting-out-fires spiral.
One of the coolest ideas to come out of this 100 day challenge is a change I made to my schedule. I now spend the first few hours of the day working on my special/fun projects rather than waiting until the end of the day after I’ve taken care of all the stuff I ‘should ‘ do. I’m making great progress on interesting work. When I tackle the should do work, I’m feeling keen, creative and ready. I’m plowing through that stuff, too.
I will continue to post results as I go. I hope my example will show you and inspire you to craft your business to be what you need it to be.
Facebook BOSC
I am posting the Excellence Pursuit Project – Tom Peter’s 163 ways to pursue excellence. A different way every week. I also post cool resources, articles etc, I find.
The Ning Community
The Ning platform is a powerful way to engage together online. This blog is a great way for me to share my story, but it isn’t really a great way to have a discussion. That’s what Ning allows. Please, join me on Ning and we can delve much more deeply and work together making things happen. It’s a closed community and I am opening it up free until there’s so much value I can feel great about charging for it.
To be clear, I will never change the rules for people once they join: if you join for free, it will always be free for you. I reserve the right to offer resources (mine and others) for sale within the group.
