About
It takes a community to grow a business.
For support, accountability, mentorship, cheerleading, bushwhacking, ideas, courage, sounding board, hurdle-jumping, problem-solving, networking, commiserating, celebrating and letting you know you are not alone.
Information is the least of our needs. When we do, we need the right information at the right time.
How can we expect to get everything we need from one source?
The Business Owners Success Club is a place to gather and share with each other. This is a place with a range of expertise, a range of experience and a range of personalities so you can connect with what you need when you need it.
There is outside, here on the blog, Facebook, G+ and twitter.
There is inside our community where you can meet others like you. Where you can join a mastermind group or gather a group of coaches to help you.
Owning a business is lonely, difficult and scary. It doesn’t have to be.
Who we are:
My name is Frances Schagen.
I am a mother of 4;
a small business owner,
active in my community
and I love traveling.
I am a serial entrepreneur instigating a HUB in our rural community (what does a rural HUB look like anyway?). I recently closed down my bookkeeping business of 15 years. I learned a ton and had the privilege of being invited deep into 100′s of small businesses.
I took everything I learned about why Small Business is so overwhelming and how to make it easier. This journey led to Your Effortless Business - a book about making your business easier for you so you can give it your all.
I am currently focusing on what it takes to make entrepreneurial ecosystems work. That’s what I want to play with here. How can your community support you in creating your ‘Good Life’?
Get in touch if you want to talk about it.

Great post, Frances!! I’m not near the 6-year mark so have to confess this story concerns me a bit. But hopefully, with people like you ‘breaking trail’ before me, I’ll find a smoother path!

Hi Gail, thanks. It’s a cautionary tale -albeit, a common one. But it is by no means an inevitability. If you are being mindful of your business, and taking the time to work on one aspect of your business at a time you will find you sail right through.

I loved your tips about successful entrepreneurs – esp “They delegate like crazy”. This is the part I’m learning at the moment.

How are you doing with that, Denise?
Delegating is tough for Entrepreneurs because we are more passionate and less patient than most. I loved the book, Gung Ho by Ken Blanchard. I took those principles and practiced on my kids.
I’m not the best delegator, but I’m better than I was.

Hello,
My name is Nathan, I work for Carlson Wagonlit Travel (www.carlsonwagonlit.co.uk) and we are a leading business travel management company.
We are looking to raise our online profile on business and corporate websites that our staff and clients love to read. We are especially keen to write guest blogs or articles on common issues for business travellers and buyers such as how the Olympic legacy will benefit business travel and the politics affecting business travel.
We think we would be able to supply your readers with interesting information and stories, for example CWT recently launched CWT 78 BizDays, which is a new mobile app that helps find the most convenient day and time to schedule an international call, video conference, event or meeting.
Can you let me know if there are any guest blog or article opportunities on your website? If you are interested, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Kind regards,
Nathan

Aw, this was an extremely nice post. Taking a few
minutes and actual effort to produce a superb article… but what can
I say… I put things off a whole lot and don’t seem to get anything done.
